A Love Like Ours-Becky Wade

I received this book for free from Bethany House Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

From the back cover:

Former Marine Jake Porter has far deeper scars than the one that marks his face. He struggles with symptoms of PTSD, lives a solitary life, and avoids relationships.

When Lyndie James, Jake's childhood best friend, lands back in Holley, Texas, Jake cautiously hires her to exercise his Thoroughbreds. Lyndie is tender-hearted, fiercely determined, and afraid of nothing, just like she was as a child. Jake pairs her with Silver Leaf, a horse full of promise but lacking in results, hoping she can solve the mystery of the stallion's reluctance to run.

Though Jake and Lyndie have grown into very different adults, the bond that existed during their childhood still ties them together. Against Jake's will, Lyndie's sparkling, optimistic personality begins to tear down the walls he's built around his heart. A glimmer of the hope he'd thought he'd lost returns, but fears and regrets still plague him. Will Jake ever be able to love Lyndie like she deserves, or is his heart too shattered to mend?

First off, I have to BRAG about BECKY WADE. She is such a talented writer. She captures your attention from the first page and drags you into the plot line and characters. Makes you really feel like these guys are your family to the point where you end up rooting for them.

With that being said, my analysis of the cover is that it is GORGEOUS, but do not get me wrong, the couple just doesn't look as old as she has them in the book. It is just my opinion but I absolutely adore the cover....its my favorite so far of her books.

I can tell this is going to be and is one of my favorite books that I have ever own. I feel like I should be a shopkeeper in the town of Holley, TX just so I can know the entire Porter family. They are such amazing people whose stories tear into your heart, leaving you emotional but cheering for a happy ending for them. Jake by far, is my favorite character hands down. He has gone through so much with serving his country and then being diagnosed with a very real thing-PTSD. I have seen it mess up many of our soldiers lives. Amber is brave and strong. I find her to be funny and the perfect housemate for Lyndie at the Old Candy Shoppe.

Becky Wade takes her time to develop these characters and to make them seem as real as you and me. Thank you so much for being so down to earth Becky. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves Christian Fiction or the PORTER family. 5 STARS easily! This is the easiest book review I have ever done and that says a lot because I am not a huge READER.

Until next time,

Halita
