Image
I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review.... From the back of the book: Mercy Brennan followed in her father's footsteps in a law enforcement career, but she has no interest in any other connection to him. A U.S. Marshal in St. Louis, Missouri, she's assigned to a joint task force with the St. Louis PD that puts her back into contact with her father and in the sights of St. Louis's most powerful gang. When the gang has reason to believe Mercy has possession of some highly sensitive and incriminating information, her boss assigns Mark St. Laurent--a Deputy U.S. Marshal and Mercy's ex-boyfriend--to get her out of town until they can guarantee her safety.  Initially unaware of the danger she's in and uncomfortable working with Mark, Mercy's frustration escalates when she discovers the extent her boss and Mark have been keeping her in the dark. It isn't until a freak ice storm hits, stranding them at a remote location and out...

Yuletide Redemption by Jill Kemerer

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion. From the back of the book: After an accident leaves Celeste Monroe to raise her baby nephew, all she wants is to provide one-year-old Parker with a happy life. She hopes taking a job caring for injured Sam Sheffield will help fulfill that goal. But Sam's determination to avoid the world throws a wrench in her plans. Despite his best efforts, Sam can't take his eyes off the pretty caretaker. Her strength and her loving nature has him falling for her—and her baby. But he refuses to burden them with a man who's not whole. Can Celeste convince Sam he's daddy—and husband—material in time for them to celebrate Christmas together? My thoughts on Jill Kemerer: Amazing writer! Amazing friend! Humble, down to earth and sweet are just some words I would use to describe Jill Kemerer. She always takes time out to respond to messages on Facebook which in my opinion shows that an author is approachable. She dem...

Write Me Home by Crystal Walton

Image
I received this for free because I am on Crystal Walton's influencer team. From the back of the book: He lives by his heart. She lives by her plans. Until an unseen enemy and growing affection threaten control of both. Returning to his hometown in the Catskills is the last thing firefighter Ethan DeLuca’s ready for. He’d rather leave memories where they belong—buried under ashes. But if he doesn’t step up to take care of Nonna, who will? Working at the camp down the road seems like the perfect solution. Until his feisty redheaded boss ends up being one fire he has no idea how to put out. Cassidy McAdams is on a mission. Get the camp Grandpa left her ready to sell, turn enough profit to bail Mom’s business out of foreclosure, and hightail it back to her life in New York City. With unexpected complications mounting, she can’t afford any distractions. Especially a ridiculously charming one who’s eager to rescue her at every turn. It’d be easier on them both to hide behind ...

Who's your Anchor?

Image
Hey there everyone! I just wanted to welcome you to my blog. Today we are going to be talking about anchors and who is your anchor during your hard times. Who do you rely on? Do you go running to a special someone? Do you run to God?  Has there ever been a time in your life where something you wanted didn’t go the way you wanted or even ended up being taken away? Have you ever looked up to the sky and say “Lord, I have no clue what you are up to now? How did that happen?” I want to tell you about a time when that has happened to my family and I. We have been through heck and back. This summer was a totally a chance to hang onto God, our Anchor and our Faith.  Some days there were  a lot  of questioning about where we were going to live, if we had made the wrong decision to move everyone up here at the time or to have people stay in Maryland. We just had to learn that God is into control no matter what.  We were in the process of relocating to Mi...

Keep Holding On by Melissa Tagg

Image
I received this book in exchange for my honest review as being part of Melissa Tagg's influencer team. From the back of the book: Beckett Walker hasn’t stepped foot in Maple Valley in years. There’s no getting past the painful memories, and there’s every chance he’ll be arrested as soon as he shows his face. Which is exactly what happens when he finally returns. Suddenly his dream of adventure as a military lawyer comes skidding to a halt.  Horticulturist Kit Danby has spent too much time missing home and her childhood best friend—Beckett Walker. Now she might have a shot at reclaiming both. After years of living abroad, she returns to run her family’s apple orchard. She has one season to turn a profit and impress the father she barely knows. But she can’t do it alone.  It should be simple: Beckett needs community service hours. Kit needs a helping hand. But there’s more at stake than either of them planned. With a tangled past and futures that look nothing alike, they’ll ...

A Heart Most Certain by Melissa Jagears

I received this book from Bethany House for free in exchange for my honest review. From the back of the book: Lydia King knows what it's like to be in need, so when she joins the Teaville Moral Society, she genuinely hopes to help the town's poor. But with her father's debts increasing by the day and her mother growing sicker by the week, she wonders how long it will be until she ends up in the poor house herself. Her best chance at a financially secure future is to impress the politician courting her, and it certainly doesn't hurt that the moral society's president is her suitor's mother. Her first task as a moral society member--to obtain a donation from Nicholas Lowe, the wealthiest man in town--should be easy . . . except he flat-out refuses. Despite appearances, Nicholas wants to help others but prefers to do it his own way, keeping his charity private. When Lydia proves persistent, they agree to a bargain, though Nicholas has a few surprises up his sl...

Moving up to Michigan

Hey Readers! It's traveling gypsy here. I just wanted to let you know that we have move from Maryland to Michigan. I have been living in a hotel since my birthday this year and I am so tired of the hotel room. I can't wait to move into our new house. I am learning to trust God more and more about things that I can not control. God is in control and He has blessed us. Living in a hotel room with four adults and six animals-one cat doesn't get along with anyone else and then my sister's cat doesn't get along with my mom's cat. The dogs sleep with my cat in my mom's room, thank goodness for a door. My sister and I have been playing games and it would seem that my luck or whatever you call it, kind of sucks. LOL. I don't mind even if I give a mean pouty lip. It helps pass the time. I know we will all be relieved when we get into our new house. I have never felt at home as much as Illinois and here. I have moved around all my life due to my dad being ...
