Like Never Before by Melissa Tagg

I received this book for free from Bethany House in exchange for my honest interview as being on Melissa Tagg's influencer team.

From the back of the book:

Maple Valley became Amelia Bentley's haven after her heart and her dreams of a family were shattered. But her new life as a newspaper editor is shaken when the small-town paper is in danger of closing. Her one hope: A lead on an intriguing story that just might impress the new publisher...if only she knew who he was.

After his biggest campaign success yet, widowed speechwriter Logan Walker now has the chance of a lifetime--a spot on a presidential campaign. But his plans are interrupted when he finds out he's inherited his hometown newspaper. He travels home intent on selling the paper and spending some much-needed time with his young daughter before making the leap into national politics.

But instead of a quick sale and peaceful break from his hectic career, Logan finds himself helping Amelia chase her story. She's scrappy, but wounded. He's dependable, but lost. They may butt heads more than expected, but a series of leads on Maple Valley's quirky unsolved mystery is just the start of the sparks that fly in the office and in their hearts.

My thoughts on Melissa Tagg:

Such a sweet author who falls in love with her characters. Got to love how excited and passionate she gets over them. I just can't help if sometimes, the biological clock is ticking though Melissa. You seem to be a little wound up when it comes to the Walkers. Melissa is a beautiful woman who seems down to earth, seems to love her nephew who is her life other than her writings.

My thoughts on the book:

Melissa! You weren't supposed to make me fall in love with Logan Walker. How dare you?!!! Lol. For weeks, I kept saying "I think Melissa's kinda losing her mind. What is so amazing about Logan Walker?" Now I have to say that I am eating my words. I apologize Melissa. Logan is pretty amazing. Amelia is very adventurous and I can't wait to finish reading this book to see where it leads to.

I love Charlie, Logan's adopted daughter. She is so cute. I know what its like to work with a kid who doesn't talk and actually through my patience, I got him to learn to communicate. His mom ended up crying when I showed her at parent day at the school.

I would talk to him on his level and every day I would introduce myself and then say "and what's your name?" One day he came in to the school and I asked.....then he said "Zackary!" He was so happy with himself so tears came to my eyes when I read about Charlie. This book has really touched my heart.

I love the idea of living in a barn loft like Amelia. Thanks for touching our lives with this cutesy book. I highly recommend this book to those who love to read contemporary romance and love to go on adventures with wholesome families. Can't wait to read more about Reagen though. She totally got my attention because she reminds me a lot of me as far as the funky hair thing.
