Her One and Only by Becky Wade

I received this book for free from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

From the back of the book:

After ten years in the NFL, superstar Gray Fowler is accustomed to obsessive fans. But when Gray starts receiving death threats from a stalker, his team hires an executive protection agency to guard him until the culprit is caught. Dealing with bodyguards 24/7 is a headache, especially when one of them is a young, beautiful woman. How can a female half his size possibly protect him better than he can protect himself?

Dru Porter is a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt--none of which saved her from disaster on her last assignment. In order to rebuild her tarnished reputation, she's determined to find Gray's stalker and, since relationships between agents and clients are forbidden, avoid a romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past.

Yet every secret that leads Dru closer to the stalker also draws her closer to Gray. As the danger escalates, they'll survive only if they can learn to trust their lives--and their hearts--to one another.

My thoughts on Becky Wade:

I LOVE LOVE Becky Wade. The way she writes her stories captures the reader's attention from the first page. She has brought the Porters to life in very colorful and fun ways while tying history to each one of the siblings. Becky Wade is such a sweet person and very down to earth. I eagerly await when she has a book out and stalk my email until the Bethany House email comes through with her listing on it as a possibility to review. Crazy?! I know. What can I say other than I LOVE Becky Wade's stories. I also love how FUN-LOVING she seems especially when it comes to Pinterest wars.

My thoughts on Her One and Only:

This book is the last and final one in the Porters series, so naturally it is a little bit bittersweet to have to say goodbye to one of the best fictional families around. Bo, Ty, Jake and Dru Porter just have a way of melting into your heart. It was about time that Dru got her own story and her own chance at LOVE. Dru Porter is the strong female who can take care of herself and who looks out for herself. This story finds her falling for her client faster than two shakes of a lamb's tail. It took Gray some time to break me down though. I figured he was your typical partying football player. Its only when you use a microscope to the HEART of Grey Fowler that you find his true colors.  He ends up being charming, handsome and overall what Dru Porter needs in her life.

I give this book a raving 10 Stars. Becky Wade has taken a way to make football kind of fun to read about. Normally, I find sports related books to be BORING. So THANK YOU Becky for livening it up. There were moments in this book that my heart raced, and then there were times were I paused due to intense emotion more for Bo and Meg. Tears tried their hardest to run freely down my cheeks.

Funny story to go with this book's theme.....

When I was younger and playing barbies with my sister and my cousin....my cousin always came up with a story line that her celebrity would falling in love with her bodyguard. So I cracked up laughing when I found out that this was Dru Porter's story. To my knowledge, my cousin never had a bodyguard to fall in love with. Still waiting for the day that it happens. Thank you for such fun.

The sexual tension between Gray Fowler and Dru Porter could light up a FOURTH of July sky. There were times that made me blush, or even curl away from the book for a moment to take a breath. It's good clean romance but wow.....it does play a number on your emotions. Great Job Becky Wade.

Until Next Time,

The Traveling Gypsy
