Death Before Life (My Story for His Glory) Chakesha Shurn

Dear Friends,

If you have never picked up a copy of Death Before Life (My Story for His Glory) by Chakesha Shurn, I recommend it. This book will touch your heart and open your eyes to the love of a child. I recieved this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

Chakesha Shurn was a member of my church in Maryland and I got to know her through activities getting a group ready for a mission trip. I never realized there was more to her than meets the eye. When you meet Chakesha (whom I call Kesha), you realize that she is a loving person who always has a kind word to say, a smile to offer and is always in worship of King Jesus.

But as I read her story, I realize that there was a broken heart that has been hurt by the loss of her dear daughter Adriana who died way before her time. I am not a mom and I can never understand the pain that my friend Kesha went through but I am glad that she has gotten the courage to share her story with us.

So many people have pain that they do not like to talk about, think about or even process through. Instead, they just put on a smile and a mask because it makes it easier to live life until it gets to a breaking point as Kesha talks about in her book. There were a few times that she wanted to end her life. Thank goodness she has the love of an amazing man who loved her through her hard times and the loss of her child.

This book deserves a 5 out of 5 stars. It takes alot of courage, faith and loving yourself to be completely honest and transparent for the world to see.

You will see your baby one day.

Until next time,

The Traveling Gypsy
