I received this e-book in exchange for my honest review as being part of Jan Elder's street team.  From the back of the book:  Fresh out of divinity school, Rev. Samantha Evans is ready to conquer the world for Christ. She lands in Moose Creek, Maine, a tiny backwater town with more moose per square mile than men. Even worse, one of her new parishioners chews up new ministers for breakfast, and he’s hell-bent on sending her packing.  Forest ranger Eric Palmer is done with women. Determined to live simply with no encumbrances, he’s moved to Northern Maine to study the moose population. With Christmas right around the corner, he runs into his buddy, Sammie, the girl who’d been his best friend when they were teenagers. Unlike most of the women in his life, he trusts her implicitly. But could she ever be more than a friend? When Samantha’s career is on the line, Eric must save her job and rescue his own shattered heart in the process. But how does Matilda the town m...

I received this book for free from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review as part of this book's blog tour.  ABOUT THE BOOK: Book:  Murder on the MOOR, A Drew Farthering Mystery Author:  Julianna Deering Genre:  Historical Mystery Release Date:  February 2017 At the urgent request of an old school friend, Drew and Madeline Farthering come to Bloodworth Park Lodge in the midst of the Yorkshire moors, a place as moody and mysterious as a Brontë hero. Worst of all, the vicar has been found dead on the steps of the church, a crime for which Drew can discern no motive at all. Few in the town of Bunting’s Nest seem like suspects, and Drew can’t keep his suspicions from falling on his friend’s new bride. Do her affections lie more with her husband’s money and estate, while her romantic int...

Begin Again by Crystal Walton

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.  From the back of the book: What happens when a free-spirited artist from big-city New York collides with an uptight business owner from small-town Ocracoke? Fireworks. The kind neither saw coming. A single call is all it takes to drive artist Ti Russo into what she does best. Run. But hey, lying low in a beach town for a while isn’t so bad. Thanks to the distraction of playing consultant to a guy she’s determined to crack, she can almost forget about the past stalking her back home. But she never counted on the real danger being a picket-fenced life she has no business falling for. Focus and self-preservation have gotten single dad Drew Anderson through the last nine years. With the threat of his shop’s foreclosure jeopardizing his daughter’s health care, the last thing he needs is a distracting hippie chick swooping in to shake up what he’s fought to protect. Including himself. The bank’s deadline adds enough ...

Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould

Image
I received this book from Bethany House Publishers for free in exchange for my honest review as part of the Blogger Program. From the back of the book: Gregarious Rose Lehman, who's always the life of the Amish youth singings, is determined to marry the bishop's son, Reuben Byler--until the handsome Army buddy of her future brother-in-law shows up in Lancaster County. In comparison to Trevor, Reuben seems downright boring. Trevor shares Rose's sense of fun and adventure, and her easygoing disposition. When her sister Lila's buggy is rear-ended and Lila is horribly injured, Rose finds herself with more freedom than she's ever experienced. Everyone is so concerned about Lila that no one realizes Rose is sneaking out with Trevor. Except for Reuben. But in his usual passive way, he doesn't confront her, nor does he address the situation with her Dat or anyone else in the district. Rose appreciates Reuben's discretion, but she also resents it. Part of her re...

Holidays of the Heart by Darlene Franklin

Image
Thoughts on Darlene Franklin: She is a talented writer who has a lot to say in her books/stories. Telling a story with complicated characters, story lines and keeping the reader interested is definitely a talent and some writers/authors have a hard time engaging their audience. That is not the case with Darlene Franklin. This was DEFINITELY my favorite out of the five stories.  My Candy Valentine I completely adored this story. Gilbert has to be my favorite by far especially when he comes up with an excuse to go and see the lovely Catrina. He just reminds me that love is definitely worth it when you find the right person. I loved how this was centered around candies. His proposal in the end was such a unique way to propose. I felt my heart run away with the characters in this story.  Love's Glory This was a fast read but that doesn't mean it didn't leave footprints on the heart. I grew up with my father in the military. He served in the U.S. Navy for 17 ye...
